As many know, one of the pretexts of several companies not to create games for the n64 was the type of media used by him, the famous memory cartridges, used since the time of the NES. The major advantage of them was carrying speed that the game, almost without loadings, which was great to beat several games that would become tiresome with loadings lengthy.
But this small advantage over cd's not changed the fact that the cartridges were ja obsolete, in addition to allow very little space for storage (up to 32 MB) compared to the CD's (650 MB), making it almost impossible to add movies and songs sung in the game.
Another problem was the altissimas royalties charged by Nintendo for the production of cartridges, making gains for firms smaller than they were a game for Playstation and Saturn.
In the end, Nintendo decided to extinguish time cartridges, choosing the DVD as a medium in its videogame future. |
